A multiple option test to assess candidate knowledge in electrical installation, Inspection and Testing 

The objective is that those persons who successfully complete this Experienced Worker Assessment
Route will be judged to have met the eligibility requirements suffcient to apply for an ECS Card from the
JIB in the occupation that they have qualifed.
This assessment route is not suitable for new entrants to the electrotechnical industry, apprentices or
other operatives who require any training or those who have completed an electrotechnical technical
certifcate with less than last fve years relevant industry experience (relevant industry experience
gained whilst training can be acceptable and will need to be verifed as meting the qualifcation
requirements). Such candidates are required to study and complete the training and assessment
requirements of: the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment
(Buildings, structures and the environment) or the Level 3 Electrotechnical qualifcation (installation) or
(maintenance).
Where the candidate cannot provide documented evidence of previous technical qualifcations, or has
qualifed outside the UK, the assessor must provide auditable evidence that the knowledge evidence of
each unit has been satisfed.
As part of the programme of assessment to achieve this qualifcation it may be considered necessary
for the candidate to take a CPD qualifcation such as the IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671) or inspection
and testing.
